RICEP Induction 2026 (New NWU Staff) Online

We are pleased to invite you to an informative induction session for new staff members hosted by the NWU Research, Innovation, Community Engagement and Postgraduate Studies (RICEP) portfolio, with Prof Jeffrey Mphahlele at the helm. RICEP has the following departments: Research and Postgraduate Support (RPS), Library Services (LIS), Technology Transfer and Innovation Support (TTIS) and Sustainability and Community Impact, under the directorship of Prof. Nnenesi Kgabi, Dr. Mathew Moyo, Dr. Janine Chantson and Mr. Lester Mpolokeng, respectively.

This event aims to familiarize you with the comprehensive support, training, and funding opportunities available to you at every stage of your academic career. Join us to fully leverage the resources and support services to enhance your research impact and transparency. The RICEP brings together the following support departments:

  1. Research and Postgraduate Support (RPS) – creating an enabling environment for quality research through capacity development, streamlined support processes, and enhanced research excellence and visibility.
  2. Library and Information Service (LIS) – empowering researchers and students through information literacy, open scholarship, digital scholarship, research visibility, and reproducible science services.
  3. Technology Transfer and Innovation Support (TTIS) – supporting intellectual property management, innovation commercialisation, and entrepreneurship to translate research into societal and economic value.
  4. Sustainability and Community Impact (SCI) – advancing engaged research and teaching that co-creates knowledge with communities and delivers measurable, sustainable impact.
