Purpose of the CHPE opportunity:

• The Lunch & Learn sessions, hosted by the Centre for Health Professions Education within the Faculty of Health Sciences, serve as a platform for staff to engage in professional development and knowledge sharing.  The primary purpose of these sessions is to explore the concept of authentic learning and its various applications in the context of Health Sciences.

• The outcomes of the 2024 Lunch & Learn sessions are aimed at equipping staff with the knowledge and skills to plan and implement authentic learning strategies, improve class attendance, and enhance student engagement. By delving into these topics, the Lunch & Learn sessions aim to foster a collaborative and continuous learning environment, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of teaching practices and student learning experiences. The specific outcome of today’s session is to establish a common understanding of what authentic learning within Health Sciences entail.
