International Open Access Week: Community over Commercialisation

International Open Access Week: Community over Commercialisation In-Person / Online

Open Access 2023

Theme: Community over Commercialisation

This year’s theme encourages a candid conversation about which approaches to open scholarship prioritise the best interests of the public and the academic community, and which do not.

Purpose of this colloquium: International Open Access Week, a global event now entering its sixteenth year, is an opportunity for open access advocates to engage the research communities to inform them about the potential benefits of Open Access, share what they have learned with colleagues, and help inspire more involvement in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research.

Hybrid Colloquium: Vanderbijlpark Campus – Samancor Auditorium and Virtual (MS Teams).

Programme Director: Prof Gustav Butler - Director UPSET Research Area; Faculty of Humanities.
